As you go to take action, feelings inevitably arise in your body. If you’re trying not to feel those feelings, you are more likely to interpret those feelings as a signal that something is wrong or that you will fail. That can trigger negative thoughts in your mind. “This isn’t going to work,” you may think to yourself. Those thoughts can activate even more uneasy feelings in your body. This escalates in a loop, until you are overwhelmed with thoughts and feelings. With each passing moment, you are less and less likely to take action.
