Honest, open cries spoken to the Father—that was his way of responding to hardships. He begins with questions. Why is this happening? How could this be? Why are you so far away? Why don’t you answer? Jesus’s words seem shocking in their desperation, yet he authorizes the use of these very words in our own troubles.
