I can tell you that those with a more positive outlook were not born with a special Pollyanna gene, nor are their children generally less afflicted than others. Sure, some of them may have had an innately optimistic personality before they became parents, but it would be a huge disservice to them to imply that their experience was less traumatic because of that.
