Arguable. His 1961 Hawaii benefit concert was certainly threstening. Moreover, "King Creole," the 1958 film, was certainly threatening to the social order. The film rather successfully challenges the post-war edict to "stay in school." Kids around the globe reacted with vandalism in the theaters, some ripping out the seats in excitement.
