He fell madly in love with her and agreed to do everything she said. He told his army to fight against the Egyptians who were loyal to Cleopatra’s brother. The Roman soldiers did as they were told. Cleopatra’s brother was killed in the battle, and Cleopatra became the sole ruler of Egypt.
