On a similar note, I'm trying to help my dog stop pulling her leash when we walk. I can only do that if I stop, address her, change directions, and start walking again. It breaks her out of her habit of pulling, for several seconds. Of course, she starts pulling again in another hundred feet (the power of habit) and we have to repeat the break cycle. I don't know how long it will take for me to help her break her pulling habit.
