The context here is very different from that of I Kings 14.25–28, which is focussed more on the question how the kingdom of Judah lost the precious ‘golden shields’ made by Solomon than on military issues. Shishak’s royal inscription at Karnak, which provides a detailed topographical list of over 150 localities captured by Shishak during his campaign, reveals that Shishak’s targets were mostly in northern Israel and in the non-fortified areas of the Negeb, rather than in Judah.
