Celeste was everything and more. The moonlight from the window highlighted her dark skin. Her round lips were bare from all the kissing we’d done, and her braids were in a state of unravel with coils escaping to give her a halo effect. This woman was an angel. Seeing her in this state, so brave and beautiful and perfect, had me come undone.
"Thank you," she whispered. "For making me feel safe." My arms tightened around her, one hand on the back of her head, the other around her waist. "You'll always be safe with me."
"I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit. You've been plenty patient with me." Lincoln shook his head and leaned down for a kiss. "Because you make everything feel whole. There's no amount of time I wouldn't wait for you."
my playlist of comfort musicals—a little Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, and Hamilton.
"You must be incredible during finals week." "It's typically my best week,"
She smiled down at me, pride in her eyes. Making her proud took over the prideful spot of convincing everyone to watch all those movies in a heartbeat. If I didn't accomplish anything else in life, I'd be happy with knowing I'd made her look at me like that.
"You're my world, you know that? Everything that matters is all wrapped in one. So, I'm going to need you to always remember that, especially when every part of you is wrapped in every part of me. Fucking claim me, Celeste. Tell me what you want to do, and it will be done. From the moment I met you, it was done. I was meant to be yours."
