“Pardon me, sir,” I began gently. “But is this about the family in Washington where the mom went into WITSEC a year and a half ago and the family may or may not be on the radar of the guy she’s set to testify against?”
I feel like the prudent thing would be to NOT volunteer information about a WITSEC participant to some stranger on the phone you have not verified.
How do you know they’re not phishing for intel? Boo!
“And what is it that you do?” Since I couldn’t really explain, I told her I was in security, which was technically true. “Are you here to guard someone famous?” “Sadly, no, but I do know Nick Madison.” We were off to the races then. She wanted to know all about him, but mostly if he was as nice in real life as he appeared on his Netflix special and in all his interviews. Since he was, it was easy to disclose the truth, that he was amazing, and how he played a lot of charity concerts and built shelters all across the country for people and animals.
Wow, this security specialist drips information like a leaky faucet. He's really good at standing out and making himself memorable. Good job, bud.
