In my books Keepers of the Garden and The Custodians the story was told of how the extraterrestrials developed life on Earth. It all took an inconceivable amount of time as life was established and began to flourish. After the animals developed, humans were created by manipulating the genes and DNA of the apes. As the species grew and began to develop intelligence then the ETs came and lived among the savages to educate them and give them basic skills so they would be able to survive and eventually develop a civilization.
