There was so much pain and fear in her eyes, and she was trembling. In a matter of seconds, I was able to read her like an open book. She’s shy and more antisocial than me. She’s suffered through something that broke her, but she’s also innocent.
Suddenly, Jenna laughs, her face lighting up for a couple of seconds. A breathtaking smile eases the tension from her beautiful features, completely captivating me. My lips part, and I suck in a shocked breath. Foda-se! I’ve never seen anything or anyone more beautiful in my life.
“Thank you, E,” I whisper. I don’t know who you are or what made you do this for me, but thank you so much. You have no idea how close I was to downing a bottle of pills and calling it quits.
“Thank you, E.” I’ve been damn near obsessed with Jenna for ten days, but as I hear her speak for the first time, a much stronger emotion takes ownership of my heart and soul. It’s something I’ve never felt before, and now that she’s in the house and I have men guarding her, I know with dead certainty I’m never letting her go.
his words sow destruction inside of me. “You’re mine. The choice isn’t yours. It's the only thing I can’t give you. You’ll never belong to anyone else. You’re mine forever.”
As I begin to turn so I can run, his hands shoot up and frame my face. Leaning down, his eyes burn into mine as he admits, “I’m in love with you. That means there’s nowhere safer on this planet for you than by my side.”
My woman. I’ve never had one before, but the thought makes the corner of my mouth lift.
pain in her voice when she whimpers, “Promise you won’t hurt me.” Knowing she doesn’t talk easily and that she’s choosing to say this to me, I take it very seriously. I pull back and lock eyes with her. “I promise. I’d put a gun to my head and end myself before I cause you any harm. You are unbelievably precious to me. Meu coração. Meu amor. Meu anjinho.”
haven’t been able to fully trust anyone since the rape, but as I stare at Enzo and see the tenderness in his eyes, I fall irrevocably in trust with him.
But as I devour Jenna’s mouth, I’m overcome with a need so strong, it rattles me completely. The obsession I have for her turns into something dark and possessive, my soul wanting to grab hold of hers and never let go. Minha mulher. Minha. Minha. Minha.
As I hold my little angel and feast on her mouth, she takes total ownership of me. I’ve never belonged to anyone. I’ve never had a home.
Locking eyes with her, I beg, “Please. Be mine. Learn to love me and let me worship you for the rest of my life.” I press my forehead to her abdomen and suck in a deep breath before I groan, “I can’t let you go, Jenna. Don’t make me force you to stay. Become my home and belong to me.”
“I haven’t begged for anything since I was twenty, but I’ll fucking beg if that’s what you want.”
“Nunca vais ser de mais ninguém. És minha. Para sempre. She gives me a questioning look. “Portuguese?” When I nod, she asks, “What does it mean?” “You’ll never belong to anyone else. You’re mine. Forever.”
“You are everything I never knew I wanted, and the biggest surprise of my life.”
Jenna’s face is so expressive, it allows me to witness the exact moment she falls in love with me. Her eyes fill with wonder, and she looks at me as if I’ve just given her everything she’s ever wanted.
A sad expression ripples over Santiago’s face, then he meets my eyes. “I see you have everything under control. If you need help or advice, you know where to get me. This is good for both of you. It makes me happy.”
“I’m about to sleep beside you. I’ve never done that before.” He leans down and gives me a gentle kiss. “That’s how much I trust you.” “So, neither of us has shared a bed with someone before,” I whisper. “I like that I’m your first.”
me. “Linda.” There’s a look of pure awe on his face. “You are exquisite. I thank all the gods that you’re mine.”
“To others, you might be the devil, but to me you’re a guardian angel.”
“Oh, Enzo,” she breathes, tears still rolling down her cheeks. “I would’ve gone to hell for you.” She
“I will worship at your feet until the day I die, and even then, I will raise hell to find you in the afterlife.”
“I love you,” I say as I place my hands on his shoulders and drag my palms down his chest. “All of you. The good and the bad. The dark part of you that doesn’t hesitate to kill and the sensitive soul who is healing me.” My hands keep exploring every inch of his front and back, and the more I feel his warm skin beneath my fingertips, the more I can’t get enough of touching him. “You belong to me, my heart,” I say, every ounce of love I feel for him making my voice hoarse. “Forever.”
“The romantic side of me likes to think my soul was drawn to yours.”
While I watch as she makes the cheese sauce, I think about how much she’s changed from when I first met her. She’s no longer shy around me, but as soon as there are other people around, she either plasters herself to my side or hides behind me. I love it.
“Why are you staring at me?” she asks as she mixes everything together. “I’m just thinking how obsessed I am with you.” A chuckle bubbles over her lips. “Yeah?” “Insanely.” I get up and walk to her. “Deeply.” Taking hold of her jaw, I force her to look at me. “Forever.” I press a hard kiss to her mouth. Her tone is filled with happiness as she says, “I love you, too, my heart.”
“I took one look at you and couldn’t help falling in love. You put up with all my quirks and accept me for who I am, and that means more to me than you will ever know. I want you for the rest of my life, meu anjinho.” Enzo clears his throat and gives me a pleading look. “Without you, life will be hell. Wear my ring so everyone can see you belong to me. Please marry me, Jenna.”
“I have no idea how I got it right to steal an angel like you from heaven, but I’m so thankful I did.” He takes hold of my hands and brushes his thumbs over my skin while he clears his throat. “You are responsible for all the good emotions I feel. You’ve reached into the pits of hell and pulled me out of darkness. You were the first person to love me, and the day I take my final breath, you will be the last person I love.”
“I love coming here,” she whispers. I raise an eyebrow at her. “And?” Letting out a chuckle, she snuggles into me. “I love you, my heart.” “Hmm…” the sound rumbles from me. “Not half as much as I love you.” “Ohhhh, I’m dead sure I love you a million times more,” she argues. “Let’s agree to disagree.”
