“I’m going to check on Jenna.” My eyes snap to Cassia. “Really?” She shrugs. “She seems like she could use a friend, and I need some female company. All this testosterone is a bit much for me.” “Don’t wake her if she’s sleeping,” I warn Cassia. “So overprotective of her already,” she teases me with a smile. “You have no idea,” I mutter as I leave her room and head to my SUV.
“You just being a man is enough to trigger me.”
“Let me take revenge for you, meu coração. Give me their names so I can turn them to ashes for you.”
“I thought I’d keep it PG-rated like those dramas you like to watch, but fuck that.”
“Please. Be mine. Learn to love me and let me worship you for the rest of my life.” I press my forehead to her abdomen and suck in a deep breath before I groan, “I can’t let you go, Jenna. Don’t make me force you to stay. Become my home and belong to me.”
“I haven’t begged for anything since I was twenty, but I’ll fucking beg if that’s what you want.” “Okay,” she whispers, repeatedly brushing her hand lovingly over the back of my hair. “I’ll be yours.”
I let Jenna talk me into getting a pink shirt. She says it’s salmon, but I beg to differ. For Jenna, I’ll wear the damn shirt.
“You own every inch of my heart, body, and soul, meu anjinho.” I pull my fingers through her silky strands while basking in the love written all over her face. “I had to claw my way out of hell, but if I knew a perfect angel was waiting here to show me what heaven was like, I would’ve come much sooner.”
“I love you and will never leave your side, because it’s the only place I’m safe. You’ve given me a reason to live again.” A sob sputters from her. “It’s like you’re my own personal cure that’s healing me from all the trauma.”
“I will worship at your feet until the day I die, and even then, I will raise hell to find you in the afterlife.”
“I have no idea how I got it right to steal an angel like you from heaven, but I’m so thankful I did.”
