Individuals rebelled here and there, none more celebrated in modern times than Dulla Bhatti, a Muslim Rajput chief from Pindi Bhattian, about seventy miles northwest of Lahore, who was executed in Lahore for his revolt. Punjab’s population and economy grew under Akbar.
