The little shadows depicting the height of a child went from crawling to walking while Lettie’s figure continued to pull them back, trying everything in her power to get rid of them. Just
on the wall behind us, you could hear the screams of a woman being attacked by a man. I could hear him threatening her, demanding to know where his children were but I see now… Lettie is to blame, and she knew it. She purposely kept the children hidden from The First Family for her own selfish thoughts and reasons. Marvin forced himself on the mother time and time again, enraged at the fact that this woman he once dealt with, got rid of his seed and couldn’t tell him where they were.
“She gave birth to another daughter, and he wanted nothing to do with her…” she said as we watched the little girl grow into a young woman. She in turn gave birth to a boy. A boy with blood red eyes…a monster just like his grandfather…”
“The little boy…he was born of the devil and vampire…He is too dark for this world so I…placed the binding contract on him…with my own blood to protect us and him. He looked his son in the eyes and did not recognize him as his own…but I knew.”
“He doesn’t want this to get out because he would have to face the fact that he took his daughter’s first-born child away from her,” Himora stated. “Something I’m sure he didn’t tell the grandson about. He doesn’t want to acknowledge the daughter he stole from and ignore the woman who gave birth to his children, all the same. Especially after it's been declared they are no longer allowed to have children. He’s spent years cleaning his image up for the public, being the face of that university and you are a monster, a thief, a killer…behind closed doors.”
you were in danger? I would do everything I can to protect you from it. Including you not knowing about it until the very last minute when it's already done and over with or I know how I’m going to handle
“You’re what?” “I’m going to marry her one day…I may not be ready yet, but I know she’s my wife.” “Hold the hell up…What are you…are you serious?” “That sounds crazy coming from me right? We’re still getting to know each other and–––”
“Shit…Nah it's more than that. It’s more than sex with her. I want to just be around her all the time. I do and say things just to see if I can make her smile or laugh. I was rushing to get some fruit cut up in the way she likes before she wakes up so when she does wake up…it’s
already there waiting for her. I feel like I just want to take care of her all while keeping her to myself for the rest of her life.”
“Marvin, some years later finds out the truth,” Ace added with his eyes on Trevor. “He finds out about the abuse, the torture and the way this woman purposely went out of her way hurt her own children because of him. Maybe even told him the twins died by her hands. Who knows.
“When in fact,” I added with my finger pointing in the air. “He said naah son…I want to make sure you keep your mouth shut too. It’s too much bad blood, too many bodies spilled over our nonsense. He goes to my grandmother, the same woman who took his children from Poette and cuts a deal with her, not knowing that his children are there in plain sight. Stunted in growth, a definite sign of First Family, my grandmother was supposed to do a blood contract on Poette to silence her and make her forget. Dr. Marvin T. Holmes is moving in a different direction. His life in the past would stain his

“Herman Shaw, a regular human being died just before the granddaughter was born, one can guess who did it…and was replaced by Reginald Norwood.”
The spell did not work on him the same way it did the others, and her mother is a whole vamp!”
Don’t wake the thing sleepin’ in sin. Don’t speak its name, don’t let it begin. The night gone still, oh what’s its name?
Whatever the hell had Poette Davis possessed also passed down into him. Whatever Lettie did to help her become pregnant…something was off because this…this darkness, this sickness was unlike any other. “He’s doing this. He’s awake…”
You couldn’t make this up if you tried. A vampire, a fairy, a mortal and two witches were chugging along the state line over
the Savannah River.
A new born’s wild heartbeat and gurgling noise. I could almost smell the mixture of blood and saliva from somebody’s mouth and the sound of wings fluttering to get away. She’s pregnant. There’s no doubt in my mind she’s pregnant.
“She’d been plotting on Poette and Mary this entire time,” I said. “The man was dealing with all three women…” I began looking through the notebook as my mind began to wander. “Banking on Poette being mad at Mary, she put herself in a position where she would come to her for help and it just went from there…”
“Love makes a man weak. Love makes a woman crazy. The boy looked so much like him, I couldn’t help but beat him for breaking my heart with his eyes.”
“Gloria,” she blurted out. “I don’t speak to them but ever since she saw me in my car that night, she tries to go out of her way to talk to me like I’m stupid. Her mother who is older than me by a few years or so, give or take,”
She wanted to make it very clear she was still younger than the grandmother. “Poette Davis. They had a daughter…homey looking daughter named Maggie. I remember because she would always call out to her and I thought, what an odd name for a black child. You named your child after a dog!”
She swiped through her phone before holding out the blurred nighttime image of a woman with thick natural hair crossing her driveway. She turned to look at the camera. Her eyes were indeed naturally red, and her mouth appeared to have fangs being drawn. I looked at Mrs. Gregory who put her hand on her hips in a dignified manner.
There was so much to unpack, and so much to learn. I enjoyed the late nights of reading up on black vampires and their origins from the incurable sickness they suffered from, to the incest, the vitiligo being responsible for the white markings, and their praise of the moon possibly being a direct contradiction to their natural enemy, the werewolf.
“His name is Trevor Coleman, and he will be responsible for how you grow into a young woman. Your other father…”
“Is responsible for what you are right now…”
It’s possible he kept the two separate so he can better hide his true form, but I would never know.
“I think I might have found Raven,” I whispered, moving a strand of his white hair from his face. His red eyes widened at the mention of her name. “I’m not able to confirm without going to see for myself but I believe there is a chance she’s alive and well…and possibly in hiding. Do you want to see?”
Leaning my head back, I drew my fangs.
think the devil was Himora by way of Lettie. It was her way of still being a part of this whole love triangle mess. Trevor said he couldn’t take his eyes off of Himora and how she danced like somebody was possessing her body.”
Crazy bc this is exactly when he started wabtubg her abd being nice to her. I thought it was random he all of a sudden wated to be with her but i get it now
