I shook my head and chuckled. “What?” River smiled, drunk and curious. “You’re not an IT guy,” I said. His smile didn’t go anywhere. “Yes, I am.” “No, you’re fuckin’ not.” I dipped down and nipped at his ear. “My guess? The Army spat youse out somehow, and you went private instead.” He shivered, and I draped an arm along the top of the couch so I could stay close. “What do you mean?” He tilted his head up and kissed my jaw. “It’s a private company.”
