It is interesting to note that even scientists often hold onto certain paradigms very conservatively and find it difficult to accept new evidence, even when the old paradigm is no longer tenable (Kuhn 1962). This is worthy of note because one of the goals of empirical science is to constantly test all theories in an attempt to disprove them.
