Dating wasn’t my strong suit. The universe always seemed to give me the wrong men just like it’d given me the wrong birth father.
I couldn’t help but smile at her innocence as I reached over and pinched her beautiful thick ass thighs. “Ouch!” she yelped. “Did you just pinch me?” “I did. You’re not dreaming,” I said, making her giggle. “On some real shit, don’t think about any of that. Just think about the magic of it all… all the rides, food, and fun we will have.” “You make it sound like a fairytale.” I chuckled. “It is! Call me Prince Charming.” Phileigh didn’t say anything. She just stared at me with that beautiful ass smile. The wheels in my head were already turning on how I could make sure this woman never left my

As we entered the hallway, my gaze immediately fell on the security guards flanking us. There were three more than there were last night. All of them were dressed in black. “Phileigh, this is Rich, Malcom, and Monte. They’re my security.” He introduced me. “Fellas, this is Phileigh.” “Hi.” I waved shyly. “Some shit pop off, protect her before me,” he told them, and my heart skipped a beat. Was he putting my life before his own? “Y’all got it?” “Got it,” they all said in unison as we headed down the hallway to the elevators.
“I get you being overwhelmed. This is a lot, but you should try to enjoy it. You earned it,” she said, squeezing my hand reassuringly. I didn’t know if she realized how much I needed to hear those words. “Thank you.” I squeezed her hand back. “Just an introvert looking out for another.” She smirked, and that urge to keep her close grew more potent. I hoped she was ready because I was never letting her out of my presence.
“The unexpected things are sometimes the best things that happened to us.”
“Are you sure that’s a good idea? I like her, Kellon, but we still don’t know her like that.” “I know what I’m doing, Mom. Trust me,” I stated firmly. She stared at me for a minute. A thousand expressions displayed across her face. “Just be careful, baby. Y’all ain’t gotta move fast. Take your time,” she cautioned. “I am, Ma,” I assured her. “Okay, Son. I’ll be outside. Have a good show.” She exited, leaving me standing with thoughts of Phileigh playing on repeat in my head. I heard all of my mom’s concerns. They were all valid, but a little too late. I didn’t know how to slow things down with

“This is a lot. I could grab a few things from Rainbow, or better yet, I could have my bestie bring me a few items.” Ms. Barnes stopped to stare at me. She had a puzzled look on her face. “Word of advice… When a man offers to get you nice things, be skeptical, but accept them, chile. You always deserve it.”
I couldn’t wait to see Phileigh lying in my bed, hopefully wearing something that exposed her juicy ass thighs. Thoughts of how sweet her pussy tasted on my lips replayed over and over again in my head.
I knew Phileigh was in a challenging position with her being pregnant and the baby’s father bailing on her. I got it. My daddy didn’t bail by choice, but a single mother still raised me. Maybe that was why I had a weak spot for Phileigh. If she let me, I would be there for her as her man or friend. It didn’t matter.
You deserve a woman who isn’t pregnant by someone else, Kellon.” I rested my body against the kitchen counter. She had my legs growing weak. How could I be this attached to a woman I had only met forty-eight hours ago? It sounded crazy, but I was attached.
I stared at her glowing smile on a post where she talked about her services, and peace swept over me. I clicked on her inbox and typed her a message. KellonBarnes: I’m not going anywhere. That’s my baby.
“Two days, and I can’t stop thinking about you, Phileigh, about… the baby you are growing, about why the universe sent both of you to me. It’s not a coincidence.” “The baby?” I repeated. My heart raced. “You been thinking about my baby?” I was speechless.
“Damn, you growing a whole lil’ baby inside.” He took the pictures and walked back over to the couch and sat down. I joined him, watching as he stared at the pictures. “As far as I’m concerned, this is my baby now. I don’t care who helped you conceive it. God put y’all in my presence for a reason, and I’m not about to fumble this.”
“Kellon, I really don’t want you to think I’m friends with you because of your money or status.” “I don’t think that. I know it’s because of this tongue.” I licked my lips, and she stared at me in disbelief.
Her eyes searched mine. “Why do you want to take this on? Aren’t you scared?” she asked, glancing down at her belly. I nodded just once. “Nah, not scared.” I placed my hand on top of hers. “I want to be what you need.”
“Shit!” A breathy growl escaped his mouth as released inside of me. “I’m going to be everything you and baby Phileigh Cheese need.” “I know.” I snuggled up next to him as we lay back on the blanket with our bodies pressed together and my head on his chest.
The doctor’s words clarified what I already knew. Phileigh was the reason I had lived. She was my soulmate, and the universe couldn’t leave her out here alone.
