A droplet fell from her eye to run down her cheek, onto her nose, and down below. “So, you’ll stay?” His voice held such a gentleness when he said, “I will remain with you until the end.”
“That is wildly unpleasant,” he snapped, his mist collecting against his transparent, intangible self in irritation. “I demand that you stop that noise immediately.”
A little human, who was a rather pretty thing, and trapped in his hold.
“I’m also sorry for the hurt I caused. It wasn’t my intention to do so. My learning shouldn’t be above your wellbeing.”
“Not once have you ever tried to erase the barriers between us either, little human,” Weldir snarled. “The only cold I have experienced is in your gaze, and your reach for me is as barren and vast as the deserts you once crossed. Yet you throw my lack of attempts at me when you make yourself impossible to court?”
“Please stay small,” she whispered, sniffling before wiping her wet cheek with the back of her wrist so she could continue to hold their tiny hands. “Just stay with me forever.”
“Female, you are making it really hard to fuck you gently if you watch like that.”
