The Personal Profile (DISC) The Personal Profile is based on an historic four-temperament model that goes as far back as the Greek physician Hippocrates (460–370 BC). Later Galen (AD 131–200), who was a physician and a philosopher, came up with the terms choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic, and melancholy, which are still used today to describe temperament.
