She gestures in the general vicinity of my jaded cock. And the sucker that he is, he starts to stiffen at the scrutiny. Watching Greer Hansen wave those long fingers in the direction of my zipper, like she’s casting some kind of spell, is my catnip.
“It’s enough, Greer. Whatever it is, it’s enough. And I’m a man of my word. When I promise to let you steer, I mean it.”
I’ve never really much thought about what trust looks like in a relationship. Because up until now, I’ve been absolutely incapable of achieving it. But I wonder if it doesn’t look a lot like Greer sleeping in my arms. Safe in the comfort and knowledge that I won’t do anything to her in her weakest and most vulnerable moments. That I’ll protect her from the world outside her door.
“Lower yourself onto me slowly, Greer. An inch at a time. Wanna savor that pussy of yours welcoming me home.”
“She didn’t just fall at your feet?” I shake my head. “Doctor Greer Hansen wouldn’t fall at anyone’s feet. And I’d kill anyone who tried to make her.”
Butcher stops mid-shovel of food onto his plate. “Jesus. You’re kind of intimidating.” I can’t help but laugh. “What?” “You heard me. Super fucking smart. Noble. Environmental. Surgeon. Part-time vegetarian. General do-gooder.” I raise an eyebrow. “As opposed to you, the do-badder.” Now, it’s Butcher’s turn to laugh. “Do-badder? I’m gonna remember that. Might even get it tattooed somewhere.”
“Then, I guess I better get good at slow dancing in the kitchen and watching movies with your head on my lap so I can stroke your hair.”
“I just want you to have the life you want, Greer. If I have the power to give it to you, I will. Every time.”
