Kimi stepped up next, sliding into her A0 with a confident expression. To absolutely everyone’s surprise—including her own—she was.. spectacularly awful. She dragged the front end along the ground, drifted sideways off the launch, clipped a support beam, spun out completely, and then flipped over into a padded foam net meant for emergency landings. Everyone froze—then Lexi clapped, laughing. She could sense that Kimi was unharmed over the bond through Xay. “Are.. you okay?” Dex asked slowly over the comms. Kimi gave a thumbs-up, upside down. “Only bruised my ego a bit.” After autopilot flipped her back over, she tried again, again, and again. Each attempt ended in some of the most creative chaos Xay had ever seen. The speed at which she managed to flip upside down after takeoff bordered on divine intervention. “This is honestly impressive,” Indigo said, watching from a safe distance. “She’s consistently unpredictable.” “I think she’s flying with negative instincts,” Lexi joked, shielding Dragon’s eyes. “It’s like an angry blind person with low motor function,” Xay muttered, completely entranced. He was more than happy that she was destroying a random A0 and not his A1-X. After several more failed attempts, a general consensus was reached: Kimi was not meant for manual piloting. Which was fine.
