“Hey, come on up.” Her voice chimes out of the speaker, and I stroke my fingers over it and smile. She sounds so happy and excited, it’s beautiful to hear.
He dips his finger into the sauce, uses it to paint the side of my neck, then licks it clean, antagonizingly slowly. “Tastes perfect,” he whispers, lifting me up onto the counter and kissing me some more.
“A freckle on the bottom, left side of your palm and a crescent moon indent just under your pinkie, figure it’s a scar?”
“I know, baby, you go back to sleep. I just want to be inside you, you always sleep better that way,”
“I’ve killed every single person that’s ever hurt you, that's how it’s always gonna be. I’m just hoping that having you close, and you being mine, means fewer people have to die.”
“I killed your father, Eloise!” He blurts the words out, like he’s been holding on to them for far too long, and all I can do is stare back at him, stunned.
“You gonna thank me, Kitten?”
