“X!” I snapped. “What?” I gave him a look, but he clearly didn’t get the meaning of it because he turned back to the officers. “Have you spoken to the neighbors yet? Did they report screaming? Because if they did, don’t worry. I think that was just me. Sometimes I scream when I come.”
