My lawyer is baffled at how much he gets away with since the judge apparently had ties to his father.

Shot your shot? Bro. She told you she was pregnant with another man's baby and your response after (a) turning *her* down two years prior and (b) spending the intervening time sleeping with every woman who passed through was to tell her not to marry the man. That's not turning you down, that's calling you on your shit.

Richard looks at me and says, “We came to let you know that you’re being downsized to a part-time library with part-time hours until the library is phased out. Your budget and your funding have been halted. And by the end of the year, we’re closing the library and tearing it down to make room for a newer and more profitable business for the town.”

One person does not get to unilaterally close a public service. There is a public comment period. Council meetings. Decisions have to be made about funding and where the materials are going. I don't give a damn if the man is President of the United States, there is just no universe in which this is possible.
