We don’t know how much time passed between Abram’s separation from Lot and the events described in Genesis 14. Months—perhaps years. It was enough time for Abram’s company of servants to number at least 318 men, many of whom had families of their own. Genesis 14:14 describes these individuals as “born into his household,” which doesn’t necessarily mean they were born into Abram’s community as babies.
