Wirr held her gaze for a few seconds, wishing he could show more affection.
“I think I know the ones you’re talking about. Follow me, Representative, and be dazzled by my map-finding skills.”
Ell—Nethgalla—shook her head. “I cannot imagine how hard it must be for you to even conceive of it, Tal. I—” “Do not call me that,” Caeden growled. Nethgalla winced,
Okay caedan steals her power to shift … a shit wait he isnt shifting every day so does that mean he lost the power??? Shes got it back???
“Why trust me with this?” “Because I know that you know, deep down, that we’re friends,” said Alaris vehemently, an edge of affectionate exasperation to his tone. “Despite all that’s happened, despite everything, we’re friends. And I don’t care what memories you do or don’t have—you, Tal’kamar Deshrel, would never kill a friend.”
The day on which you decide not to question what you believe, is the day that you start making excuses for why you believe it.” Alaris
Caeden responded with a wry look, but nodded slowly. “I may take you up on that offer.” He didn’t let his gaze waver. “But no matter what you say, I won’t abandon my friends.” Alaris’s look was pained. “And I’d never ask you to,” he said softly.

Isil. Alarius. Meldier. Werek. Andral. Talkanor. All names from the Gil’shar pantheon.
“You were going to kill them?” she asked in horror. “I was going to escape. Whether they died would have been up to them,” said Breshada calmly.
Charis’s decapitated head
You think that I do not understand your plan? I made your plan. I whispered in the ears of your best and brightest. I sent them
“His name is Caeden,” she said quickly. “He’s on our side.” Breshada stopped in front of Caeden as the young man watched her warily. Slowly, she shook her head. “I know who he is,” she said. “His name is Tal’kamar.”
“You know this. The true evil is always in the reason and the excuse, not the act.
“Certainty is hubris, Tal. It is arrogance and bluster and those who claim it deserve nothing but to be mocked.”
“Friends. Enemies.” Meldier smiled sadly. “We have known each other for thousands of years, Tal’kamar. We are men. We have been both.”
If there had been two sets of armor, he’d have been the one demanding to stay behind. He was an idiot like that.
