“There is so much history in the way he looks at [him]. In the way he says [his] name. When they are together, there is a current that runs between them; like an electric charge on the verge of erupting into a perfect storm. I don’t love [him] anymore, he says. And it is in the way he says the word, [him]—that tells me otherwise.” — LANG LEAV
I don’t know why but I don’t like that this quote was used just to change all the pronouns. Because then it’s no longer the same quote. It was written about a “her”.
“You remember why your wife kicked her ex-husband’s ass to the curb, right?” I ask calmly, not giving him a chance to respond. “Not because he wronged her, but because he wronged her children.” I pause for dramatic effect. “How do you think she’d react if she knew what you’ve done to her child?”
That’s what I was wondering. Did he think that she would react better to finding out that he forced her son to move to another country than she would’ve? If she found out her son and his stepbrother were dating? You can’t possibly think she would prefer the former over the latter.
He chose me. Maybe it wasn’t fate, or destiny, or dumb luck that won me this sweet, perfect guy. Maybe it was Easton who looked at me one day and thought, Him. I want that one. And the universe said, Not sure why, but whatever.
