“We close in less than an hour. You have plans?” “For you? Yes.” She inches closer. “Go on...” “I’d like to find out if you’re a screamer or a moaner.”
“I hadn’t expected you to get over him by ridin’ his dad, but who am I to judge?”
“You have a horse named Taylor Alison Swift?” She blows out a deep breath. “Yes. We call her Miss Swift if you must know.” “So you’re a Swiftie?” “We’re not doin’ this...”
Noah’s breathtakingly beautiful, but it’s her smart mouth and confidence that attract me to her the most.
Still, I want to wrap my arms around Noah and keep her for myself.
“Before you get upset with me for followin’ the rules, just remember all the ways I’d break them for you.”
Meanwhile, I could stare at her all night because she’s by far the most beautiful woman I’ve laid my eyes on.
“Now call me a train because I’m about to get railed,” she singsongs and then mimics a train whistle.
How could I ever just be her friend when I want to be her everything?
“On your knees, Goldie. Now.” I blink once at his harsh tone, but goddamn, it also turns me on. It’s gotta be all that monster smut I read before bed. Red flags? Nah, I’m color-blind.
“I remember everythin’ about you, Noah. There’s nothin’ about you I’m gonna forget. Not the way you lick your lips when you’re nervous or aroused. Not the way you wrinkle your nose when you’re unsure of or don’t like something. Not the way you cock your hip when someone’s pissed you off. And definitely not the way you beg for me. So tell me what you need tonight, and I’ll give it to you. Anything.”
“Honey, I’d never seen a man look at a woman the way Fisher looks at you. I may be old, but I ain’t blind.”
“How does he look at me?” I whisper. “Like you’re his whole world and he’d rather die than not exist in yours.”
“Fine. Not too fast,” I warn. “I’ve got old bull rider knees.” She snorts. “Puttin’ that AARP medical plan to good use then, huh?”
I haven’t seen Noah in two days unless you count parking outside her house and sleeping in my truck all night
“It’s stunning!” She blinks at it a few times as if she can’t believe it’s really hers. “But I’d wear a paper ring as long as it meant I was yours forever.”
