“You’ll always be my baby, Aari. No matter how many boyfriends you get,” I groaned. “You can’t change that any more than I can change how I feel.”
“Either way, I gotta check my shit. They were made in love, even if only for a moment. They deserve to see that, not us arguing all the time because, as much as I love you, Mama, I love them more. I don’t like it, but I’m proud of you for putting yourself first, Miss Aari.”
“Chase! This is my Daddy. Do you know him?” Ry asked, proudly putting Syx on display. “We’ve met, Ry.” “We had so much fun at the trampoline place. Daddy threw Mommy in the foam!” Syx smirked at his daughter’s messy comment.
“That’s exactly what the fuck I thought. Shit prayed for, but we made no promises. Aari moved on like she was supposed to, but I’m back now. When I get my shit in order I’m taking my family back,” I smirked, letting him know I was neither playing or intimidated. “Until then, she’s ours. So do your part.”
“Yes, ours. You know, the possessive pronoun used to show ownership by a group. Since you’re part of the group fucking her, at least take the trash out.”
You have my heart and my kids. When I look at you, I will always see mine.”
Word of advice. Next time you take a shot at me, go for the kill because when it’s my turn, I won’t miss.”
“Cool. When are we moving your stuff?” “Why would we do that?” “Oh, you’re trying to put me in my soft-man era and move me in?”
“I found you on accident but fell in love on purpose. In five days, you did the unthinkable. I knew that I didn’t want this to be a lesson. I’d had enough of those. I want this to be forever. Everything good in my life starts with you, Big Mama. It’s only right it ends that way, too.”
