“I’ll always love you, Hugh Biggs,” Liz said when she rounded the table and stopped in front of me. Inhaling a quivering breath, she leaned down and pressed a kiss to my cheek before whispering, “No matter what.” And then she was gone.

This broke me into pieces. This is currently my #1 out of the series. Mostly just relating to Lizzie in regards to mental health and feeling alone in it. The development of their relationship throughout their childhood and adolescence was amazing to read and poor Hugh. It truly takes a strong ass human to love someone that cannot seem to see a way to love themself yet and I know he will continue to stand by her and fight for her (as he should IMO). Lizzie is strong as hell and I know she can fight this and see life is worth living. My biggest hope is that the truth finally comes out with what she had to endure alone and that the core 10 can get out together on the other side 🫶🏻
