“Now, about that shower for two…” I looked back at him with a smile. “Wanna waste some water with me?”
“Travis is spoken for,” I said. Well, they heard that. Travis’s eyes darted to mine, and then because me, Maddy and Brandi were all staring at him, he said, “I am. Very spoken for.” I chugged back some of my beer to hide my smile. Then Travis said, “And my girlfriend gets kind of jealous.” I almost choked on my drink. “Gives me the silent treatment,” he went on to say.
“You were totally jealous,” Travis said. He was thoroughly amused. “Of girls, no less.” “She was touching you.”
I looked at him then, and his face went from pissed off to oh-hell-no when he saw that I was fighting tears.
“It’s who I am.” He smiled. “It’s who I love.”
“He’s really impossible.” She chuckled and sat down in what was normally George’s chair. “They all are.” I sighed. “He’s so infuriating.” “And the worst part,” she added, “is that they’re normally right.” “That’s the worst part!” I cried.
“You don’t have to, Charlie,” he whispered. He rested his forehead on mine and ever-so-softly nudged my nose with his. “You don’t have to.” “Do that again,” I whispered with my eyes closed. “What? This?” he asked, softly nudgin’ his nose to mine. I smiled at the butterflies it gave me. “That’s the best thing ever.”
I named him Nugget.” Oh, no. He’d named him already.
