“I’m sorry, Claire. I was wrong for messing around on you behind your back.” My brow comes up before I glance back to Jude. “Did you threaten to beat him up or something?” He’s still grinning as he shrugs. “If that’s what you want, I will, but no, I didn’t. Laps are my punishment for hurting you.” Why does that make me giddy? “It seems like he doesn’t mean it,” I say and Jude laughs.
“Why is it every time I see you, you surprise me?” Leaning my forehead against hers, I move my nose slowly along hers, my lips teasing hers before I whisper, “Because I’m trouble.”
“I knew you were a game changer, Claire Anderson.” I grin as I look over at him, meeting his lazy gaze. “And I knew you were trouble.”
“Ooowee, trouble you are, I knew it,” I say with a shake of my head, moving my hands up his shoulders and then into his hair. “And I can’t help but like it.”
“It’s easy to forgive because I believe that people change. We grow and become better people because of the influences around us.”
“Easy. As long as there are stars in the sky, I am yours. Forever and always.”
