They thought fire would take everything – my home, my woman, and Elijah. That I’d be nothing but ashes. They forgot who I am. I’m King Inferno. I don’t burn alone. The Inferno Gods don’t just ride—we burn everything in our path.
“We burn the faces of our enemies.” “Fucking flames burn slow because the Gods are Inferno,”
“Walk that rocket launcher back in that fucking house, Wy… I want my fucking house at the end of this.” “Fuck.” I heard him mutter. “Nigga, you was gonna blow my fucking ho… never mind.” I quickly ended the call because the footsteps had stopped, and I was trying to pinpoint where the fuck these niggas were in my crib. I was killing niggas regardless, but if they picked my wife’s panties up from the floor and smelled them, I was really gonna lose my shit.
She held her finger to her mouth and pointed around the corner. If I wasn’t so mad at her, I would be turned the fuck on.
“You niggas need to start letting me know who we got beef with… since when we got beef with the Del Devils?” Wylie walked in calmly from the backyard, shooting a nigga creeping down the steps. “The fuck you thought you were doing?” He looked at the man in disgust and emptied his clip in his face.
“Thank you for your service,” one of the officers thanked him when he noticed the tattoo on his forearm. “Before or after you tried to take my life?” Wylie replied, not for the fake shit they wanted to be on.
The fact that the Del Devils had something to do with this had me fuming. My uncle was the head of the Del Devils.
“Sir, can we get her name?” One of the paramedics asked. “Blair.” I looked up from my hands. “Blair Inferno.”
“Anjo, I always wanted to meet you. My daddy dreams about you all the time… I’m Harley.”
Tamara Morgan liked this
“I’m…I’m not dead?” She smiled, reminding me so much of her father. “It’s not your time. My daddy is superman, so strong, but he needs you. He needs his angel on earth, he already has one up here.”
“Oh, his bodycam doesn’t work… oh, perfect because my home security cameras and my neighbors’ do… yeah, do that because had I not been there, they would have fucking shot a man that was defending his home…. Get me the fucking police commissioner now! His fucking granddaughter could have been murdered, yank his janky ass out that fucking bed!”
“You’re letting them win, Quasim. I told you that I will walk through the fire with you… yeah, I didn’t think it’d be an actual fire, but I am here. If you’re going to become distant, I would rather you do it now. God and everyone else knows how much I love you.”
“You think you run shit?” “When it comes to my heart, I do. If you can’t handle it, then leave me the fuck alon—”
“Nothing can ever be right until you get yo ass down in that casket and I take a piss on you. I would rather put crazy glue on my hand and beat my shit before I ever bridge the gap when the Infernos run this bitch… something you always wanted.
“You all see Queen Inferno… let harm come to her and I’m fucking wiping bloodlines and killing fucking cats. No sense behind this one. Dookie, you may act tough, but I’m gonna show you what it feel like to really be high… feel me?”
“I knew you were holding it all inside… Simmy, you don’t need to be strong with me. I’m here… let me be strong for you sometimes.”
“A king doesn’t just wear the crown. He carries the weight of his people, and when that fire comes, he never stands alone… Inferno Gods stand with him, ready to fight, ready to lay it all down.”
How did God deem me worthy to love and protect her? Blair was too damn good for this world. Her heart was as big as the sky, and she would do whatever for those she loved. Including almost killing herself to get my baby girl’s blanket and album.
“The fuck, did she run over here?” “Who?” “Capri.” “Something happened?” “Nah… she’s lending me something.”
“Your timing is always right. We believe in what you have in store for us, and we thank you for continuing to give us a new day to make it right… another day and another chance to do what we’ve both been called to be… parents. In God’s name we pray.”
“There was a time when you lost faith and thought you didn’t deserve happiness. I never stopped praying for you, Moochie. Never let up and knew this day would come. I love you so much, Moochie.” I bent down and rested my head on Gam’s shoulder as she rubbed my back. “You deserve this. You do what needs to be done to protect this family, Diablo.”
“The last time we were in the bathroom together weighs on me at times. It’s the reason that when you call, I run, because I never want you to get back to that place. You couldn’t see it then, but I always could. I always knew that you would have another chance, and the shit would be sponsored by my favorite niece. She put this all into play, Pop… I love you, nigga.”
“She was sent specifically for you, Sim. I don’t even need to tell you but love and protect her. Don’t run from what’s for you and she’s for you. Everything inside of me told me to run from Meer, and where would I have been if I didn’t trust God’s blueprint he set out for me? Would have missed out on the most amazing soul.”
This love was a bandage, healing that part that had been bleeding for years.
“I like having new cousins and aunts. Sim tucks me into bed and kisses my head. I can eat whatever I want and never get in trouble for it.”
“Eli, remember when I told you that I can’t help you if you don’t tell me the truth?”
“I haven’t lied to you, Sim… I swear. Please don’t take me back, I’m not lying,”
“Remember what I told you, Elijah… I’m not around so what that mean?” “I protect Ms. Blair.” Simmy smirked. “My guy.”
“You crazy as shit, Anjo.” “Even crazier now that I am carrying your baby.” I reminded him.
“My turn to ask… you coming back for me, Eli?” “Yes!” “My guy… take care my lady, alright?” “Always.”
“Do what you have to, Diablo… protect the family, my love.”
It spoke volumes how loyal each Inferno God was to the Inferno family. This wasn’t just a gang for them, it was their family, and they treated it just like that.
“Papa had his crew that ran with him, but when Quasim took over, he built his own team brick by brick.”
Very chill. Very watch documentaries. Very I’ll kill yo mama cause I had to leave the house.
“Nah… I’d rather not. I got some sick ass fetish for taking people’s parentals from them, feel me? Love a little murder of a mama.”
“Mutual ground, mutual ground… suck my dick. Mutual grounds don’t exist no more… come off the porch, pussy… The king is fucking waiting.”
The Inferno Gods don’t play with fire, we become it. Polo started the war, but he didn’t realize that it was his world that would turn into ash.
“Fuck ‘em.” “Let they mutha love ‘em.” “Or take they mutha from ‘em.” I finished our quote.
“Sigel squeezes the toothpaste, and my brother has always hated that… maybe he should go.”
