Tem had never been fucked against a tree before. They were alone in the forest, but it didn’t matter—Tem would’ve let Caspen fuck her with a crowd present.

“You did your best with the circumstances you were given.” He clasped his warm hands over hers. “That’s all anyone can hope to do.”

“Tem, you’ve got to take me.” “To the caves?” “Yes. Immediately, if possible.” “No, Gabriel.” “Why not? If there are snake sex parties happening, I take it as a personal insult that I’m not invited.” “There are no snake sex parties,” she hissed. “Pah.” He flicked his fingers dismissively.
basilisks fell to their feet before them, having sex right in the middle of their path. It was becoming somewhat of an obstacle; every time it happened, they had to step around. “What are they doing?” Tem asked after the third couple fucked in front of them. “They are hoping you will join them.” “What? Why would they want that?” “Because it would be an honor.”
something else distracted her. An enormous tiered fountain stood before them, made of off-white marble. Snow-white liquid spouted from the top before cascading down the tiers in shimmering waves. Even from here, Tem could sense the richness of the substance as it poured from the fountain. It looked like white gold.
Do not make the mistake of thinking you are special,” the woman snapped. “Caspenon has had every woman under the mountain, including me.” A blush rose on Tem’s cheeks. Her first instinct was to be embarrassed or even angry. But she’d already known that Caspen had slept with nearly everyone in this room. If this woman thought that information would hurt her, she was wrong. A part of Tem actually reveled in it. Caspen had been with everyone and he still chose her.

Now what?” she asked, still breathless. Caspen smiled. “Now we celebrate.” Celebrating, of course, meant sex. Everyone around them was already doing it; the crowd was breaking off into pairs and groups, their bodies overlapping in an endless wave of skin. Caspen pushed her down on the mattress, and Tem wrapped her legs around him.
As they approached the town square, a chant formed. Three words, over and over: “Kill the snakes! Kill the snakes! Kill the snakes!” A horrible chill slipped down Tem’s spine.
Tem standing there clutching her pearls like: “Oh my gosh… hostility?? Toward… SNAKES???? How shocking???”
Meanwhile the entire kingdom:“WE LITERALLY SAID IT OUT LOUD.”
“Is that so? Your heart says otherwise.” “My heart?” “I can hear it beating, Temperance. It speeds up whenever you look at me.” Tem looked pointedly at the ground. Caspen had told her the same thing the first time they’d eaten a meal together. Your heartbeat, he’d said. It is irregular. “My heartbeat is none of your business.” “And yet, it beats so loudly, I can hear nothing else.” “Well, stop listening.” “You are rather difficult to tune out, Temperance.”
Tem’s eyes snapped back up to his. I’m not staring at anything.
Tem: stares dead-on at the droplet
Apollo: “That’s for you.”
Tem: mentally screeching I DON’T WANT IT.
Apollo: “Then why are you STARING?”
Tem: snaps eyes upward guilty AF “I’M NOT STARING AT ANYTHING.”
Girl… you are STARING AT EVERYTHING.
SO.
FUCKING.
CHILDISH.
Tem had always been struck by the way Caspen looked at her—like she was capable of achieving miracles. And perhaps she was. “But I don’t want someone else’s cock in my mouth,” she said quickly. To her surprise, Caspen smiled. “In that case, you shall only have mine.” Only then did Tem realize that if she and Caspen joined the ouroboros, it would mean he would be pleasuring someone as well. Someone would be straddling his face, completing the circle.
Apollo’s head went between her legs. For a moment, they continued as they had been. Then Tem felt a sudden change in Adelaide’s mind. Where before she had been calmly resisting arousal, now she was completely—almost violently—turned on. Heat poured into their shared connection as Adelaide’s moaned against Tem’s center. He is very good, Temperance. I am afraid that I— Tem could barely hear her. Apollo was pushing Adelaide toward climax with brutal insistency, hardly giving her a chance to breathe.
Before Tem could yank Gabriel back, a man approached the fountain. She already knew what he was going to do—she had seen it before, after all. But for Gabriel, the experience of watching someone ejaculate into the fountain was an entirely new one, and the moment the man did so, Gabriel gasped, “It’s cum?” Tem sighed. There was no other way to explain it. Besides, it was the truth. “Yes.” “That’s wild.”
Suddenly, Apollo was before her—just out of reach, tempting her. Always tempting her. Kiss him, Tem. EXCUSE ME? I want you to kiss him. But Tem just shook her head. Caspen couldn’t possibly want anything of the sort. You’re out of your mind. And you are rather feisty tonight, little viper. I’m only feisty because you’re being unreasonable. I understand. But if my brother ends up marrying you in my stead, you must know that you are compatible.
