“Tell me to stop,” he murmured, his lips brushing my ear. “Tell me you don’t want this.” I shivered, my hands splaying across his broad shoulders. “I don’t want you to stop.”
“I mean, yeah, he’s clearly unhinged, but girl, did you see how he just took charge like that? He’s got that I-will-burn-this-city-down-for-you energy.”
I tapped a finger against my chin, thinking. “Okay. What’s something people assume about you that isn’t true?” He exhaled, rolling his shoulders. “That I don’t think things through.” I gave him a look. “You do have a way of acting before asking.”
His lips twitched. “I ask when I need to. Most times, I already know the answer.” I huffed out a laugh. “That’s an incredibly arrogant way of saying you like control.” He smirked. “I do like control. But I also like when people trust me enough to give it up.”
“Okay, last one. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?” Creed didn’t hesitate. “Here.”
but neglect can be just as painful in its own way.
