“You’ve never called me by a nickname,” Ashley whines and gives Marley a dig in the ribs with her elbow. “I called you a cunt the other day and you punched me.” My mum spits her wine while everyone else laughs.
I know that tradition dictates that I get down on one knee and do this, but you deserve so much more than one knee. So here I am, in front of you now, on both knees, asking you, would you please make me the happiest man alive and do me the honour of becoming my wife?”

Despite all of that, her life has been as far removed from a fairy tale as you could possibly get, but now, finally today, I have made her not only my wife, Mrs King, but my queen and I plan on giving her the happily ever after she deserves.
