“What’s for you won’t pass you, Beckett.
“there’s a lid for every pot.”
“I could charm the skin off a snake, if I ever took the notion.”
a light heart gives a long life, and in order to keep your heart light and free of burdens and baggage, remember to listen to it when it speaks. Don’t let circumstances dictate what your heart wants, but rather, let your heart shape your circumstances.”
“True love will show up exactly when and where it’s meant to,”
“This place has a funny way of working things out the way they’re supposed to work out. Or not work out.”
I want to tell her that, on the contrary, her eyes are currently dancing, but I refrain. Because boundaries.
There’s electricity everywhere we’re connected. An exciting, zippy kind of spark that makes me want to lean in and see what happens next. Which would be crazy… but the pull between us currently feels that strong.
“Maybe the universe wanted us to meet,”
“Why? Does she think you suck? Because you don’t.”
It’s like seeing daylight after so long in darkness.
I suppose my lingering question is that I have no idea if loving and losing someone is better than not loving at all.
“That’s it, that’s what I’m going to remember. You.”
“From the second you crashed into my life in the elevator, Keeley Roberts, I started feeling things that I hadn’t felt in a long, long time. Maybe ever. And for that, I will always be thankful to you.”
His words make my heart swell. Because right here, right now? This was clearly meant to be. A moment destined to happen. One that’s undeniably ours.
“We were meant to meet each other this summer.”
We’re connected. And somehow, that makes the risk of letting myself experience romantic feelings for Becks feel like a lifeline. No, a bungee cord. Because no matter how uncomfortable it is to be outside of my comfort zone—leaning into love when it’s burned me before—this time, there’s something to catch me when I fall. The promise of the forever memory of what’s happening here and now.
By just being her. She makes me believe in better. Believe I can be better.
Maybe it wasn’t so much that I was unfit for love, but that real love simply hadn’t found me yet. And what I feel for Keeley is undeniably real love.
Fate will have its way with you either way.
Instead, I’m diving in headfirst. Fearless. And it’s all for her. All because of her.
When life led me to you, the stars aligned, A twist of fate that redefined, In a single moment, my world was changed, Love found me where I least expected, I’m rearranged…
She didn’t leave when I showed my cards, exposed myself. In fact, she came closer.
I wanted to reject everything about the lore and legends surrounding The Serendipity because I couldn’t make sense of love, so therefore, I couldn’t make sense of leaning into the legends. Yet, somewhere on this journey, I fell head-over-heels into a summer love I didn’t believe would—could—happen to me. And it’s clear that the building where we live was drawing us together so we could experience this feeling together.
It’s magical. Special. Beautiful. Burning bright.
Because love can enter your life in different ways, at different times. And maybe the answer isn’t how love begins or ends, but the journey on which it takes you. How it shapes you and molds you and makes you grow. Changes you, for the better.
Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened, right?”
Don’t run away. Stand strong and fight for what fate has put in your path. The gift of love that’s been given to you. Don’t let history repeat itself.”
