“If today was my last day, I’d be happy to have spent it with you.” Koen cups the back of my head. I lean into the soft press of his lips against my brow. He says nothing, barely breathes, but his hands don’t let go of me for a long, long time.
There has never been anyone like him. I could live a thousand more years, and there will never be.
