"You so fuckin' sexy to me." His words deepened our kiss. "You really think a nigga gon' let you fall in love with someone else? Nah. I'll lock yo' ass up where no one can find you, then stream me killing the nigga just so you can see what happens to any nigga you fall in love with who's not me." Wolfe said all of that without missing a single beat in our kiss. He kissed me like he was attempting to jump into my mouth and still threatened me... clearly and violently. I kissed him lovingly one last time before pulling away. "And you think the same doesn't go for you?" Tilting my head slightly

"That nigga looks at you like he wants to bend you the fuck over and pipe you down," I finally finished. "You want that nigga to pipe you down, Navy?" Before she could answer, I positioned her at the foot of the California king bed and jerked her body forward against the mattress. "Nnnn-noooo." She shuddered when I lifted her dress and dragged my finger along her folds. "Better fuckin' not." Yanking at her panties, I tugged until they ripped, freeing my pussy. I dipped two fingers in and out, making her pussy nice and milky. "Hon... Honorrr!" she moaned. "Fuck on my fingers, Navy. Give me some

"Four this, my big-headed older brother, Honor. He doesn't speak much, but he's a good dude. On his lap is his girlfriend, who's not his girlfriend, but Wolfe's first love, Navy."
"Lord, we thank you for this moment, for this feast, and for Gigi's hands that prepared this meal. We thank you for the blessing of our chosen family, the ones who show up, who love without limits, and who make our lives richer every day. May we never take this bond for granted, and may we always remember that love, loyalty, and gratitude are what truly nourish our hearts. Lord, I've been asking you to send me someone to heal what's been broken within me, for her to love a nigga, flaws and all, 'cause you know I come with a lot. You answered my prayers in the form of a hardheaded, stubborn

"What do I have to be sneaky about? I'm not tied down to you. I can move how I wanna move, and you can continue to eye your brother's girlfriend with lust," she popped back. On her fork, she had mac & cheese along with yams. She wasn't letting this shit stop her from eating, either. Bullshit aside, we were perfect for each other. "Um, maybe this conversation is one that should be had in private." Navy offered advice no one asked for, but that was Navy, always trying to be the mediator. "Why? Don't you think Honor should know about his little brother having a thing for his girlfriend?" Chosyn

Shit was rough, and for the first month, I wrote my mother letters thinking she would come to her sense and come get me. None of my letters were answered until 'bout two months into my stay. I was geeked to finally get something from her. The letter was bullshit, tho'. Basically, she told me how all the shit she went through was my fault. That my father was a perfect husband until I came around. That her being in prison was her punishment for fuckin' birthing me. After reading that, I was ready to fuckin' die. A kid in the group home started picking on me soon after. I didn't bother fighting

"Oh, shit here. Nigga, take these," Crown panicked. He slipped his hand into the pocket of his hoodie and tossed a pair of glasses my way. "Fuck is this?" Loud ass knocking on the passenger window answered my question. River was beating the shit out of my window and squinting like her ass couldn't see. "Nigga, you took her glasses?" "Hell yeah. If she can't see, she can't make plates, and I won't have to murder a nigga behind her pretty ass." "Nigga, the fuck is wrong with you?" I laughed. "I don't know. Her pussy gotta have some voodoo mixed in that bitch. She rode my dick doing seventy down

My wife said not to hurt you, so I won't. Back to my Love & Basketball thing, tho'. She played for a nigga's heart, and you gon' run for your life. You look like a track and field ass nigga. There's a stop sign two blocks down. Make it there before Four hits you with her car, and you'll get to live. If she hits you, then you know what it is." "Crown, really?" I frowned. "If this nigga wants his life, then he'll run for it." "I'll do it," Randy nervously blurted.
"Real quick, Chosyn and I are hosting Christmas at my crib this year." "Nigga, you know I don't care where we at long as we're together. I'll let Navy know. Tell Chosyn our pajama sizes are small for Navy and double XL for me. A nigga needs room to let his dick and nuts breathe." "You just told her yourself." Wolfe laughed. "Wassup, Chosyn." "Hi... uh, hey, Honor," I stammered, caught off guard by the friendly tone. "Love is love. No need to be shy. Wolfe is like my son, lowkey. You hurt him I'ma have to take you boating and feed your ass to the sharks, tho'."
Eye my bitch like you tryin' to fuck her again, and I'ma chop yo' dick off and shove it where you like for your dicks to go." Both mine and Talon's eyes peeled open wide at that threat.
"Yes, I'm sure!" I smacked, sucking my teeth. "There's no ring on my finger!" Lifting my hand to throw it in his face, I noticed two bands as I looked at my palm. One was filled with diamonds, and the other was solid. I flipped my hand around, and the diamond band was flooded with sparkly diamonds all around. It was a wedding band. The solid platinum band on the other side housed tapered baguette cut stones that brought my stunned gaze to a gorgeous marquise-cut diamond. My first thought was to ask how many carats, but that was tacky. It was stunning and would probably get me robbed. I posed

For the first time since I woke up, I truly looked at Crown, and this man was in-fucking-sane. His big ass was dressed just like Santa, red hat and suit, white beard, and a fucking black sack by his feet. I leaped off my bed, rushing toward him. Snatching his left hand, I gazed at the thick diamond band his stupid ass wore.
"I can't imagine pushing out two babies," I mumbled. "Well, you might wanna get used to the thought because you are glowing, and I know King's trifling ass is not the reason." "Oh, she didn't tell you?" River popped her lips, ready to spill all my tea. "Tell me what?" Jayce inquired, squishing her brows together. "King is dead. Her new nigga killed him. He's the reason for that glow you speak of and possibly a baby," River snickered. "Damn, River, can I tell my own business?" "Girl, no!" We all laughed.
Wolfe shifted his focus to Jayce and even got a smile and laugh out of her. My brows hiked, wanting to be a part of the conversation. I took a few steps, trying my best not to make any noise. "Not you trying to creep your ass over here," River said, blowing my spot up. "Chosyn." I snapped my mouth shut and stomped back over to the truck. "Don't trip. I got Four. I'm just letting her make the bed that her ass gon' be laying in," Crown told me.
I shook my head, knowing exactly what was planned for tonight's entertainment. New Year's Eve at the Mancinelli estate was a celebration, just without the streamers and fireworks. Instead, Lucian chose to celebrate with bloodshed. Beneath his house was a fighting cage. Men who had wronged anyone in the Mancinelli organization and wanted their lives spared fought to the death for Lucian and his wealthy counterparts to watch. It was a sick tradition, one that took me from a boy to a muthafuckin' man.
"The sins of a father shouldn't be the sins of the son. Children aren't meant to walk the same path as their parents. They're here to carry the legacy in a way that reflects who they truly are. Mafia logic says a son is meant to be the mirror image of his father, but that's a flawed way of thinking."
"Lucian, I don't know the type of men you take us for, but maybe that's why you feel comfortable enough to offer the opportunity to stab our brother in the back. You say you'll award us with riches by acting in a disloyal manner against the person who saved our lives. But that's the type of shit you expect from negrones like us, right?" Wolfe smirked. "Fuck all that shit. My nigga just said the answer is whatever Honor says it is," Crown added, sucking his teeth in Lucian's direction.
"I'm with Wolfe on this. We need all hands-on deck. Just in case we don't get the money, I'ma have to make arrangements for my wedding. I gotta make an honest woman out of Four 'fore we go see them pearly gates. Maybe then the big G-O-D will let me in if he sees I got a wife and not tryin' to fuck the angel hoes up there." "Aye, don't say shit else, my nigga," Wolfe barked, annoyed with Crown's ignorance.
"Chosyn, what the fuck happened?" Finally, this nigga was up and had the nerve to have his t-shirt wrapped around his nose. "It doesn't even smell that bad," I scoffed, feeling like that last round had gotten everything out. "Bullshit! My whole room smells like yo' ass was eating funky ass boiled eggs."
"Shit, you might be right 'bout that. I heard them Teixeira muthafuckas breed cane corsos and train 'em to hunt. But when they want someone to die in a crazy way, they starve the dogs, then send their victim into a maze and have the dogs chase after them. The shit's crazy," Kage explained. "Th-thank you for that beautiful explanation, Kage."
"And the glasses," I added. "Do you know this man was going to leave me blind and stranded because I didn't want to wear my glasses? I snuck and had some contacts delivered to my office, and this man was waiting for me outside. He had the nerve to tell me to toss my contacts on the ground or don't get in his car," she huffed. "What you do?" Navy asked before I got the chance. "You see, I'm here in glasses, right?" "Bitch!" I squealed, forgetting where we were. A few people looked in our direction, tossing a fake smile before heading back to their boring business.
"Yeah, I'm not that nigga. I'll shoot you right here, then mop your blood with your fucking brain. Chosyn, who the fuck is this nigga?" Wolfe barked, finally asking the million-dollar question. "My heart!" "What is causing such a commotion over here?" An older Italian man who smelled just as expensive as he looked pushed his way through the crowd of people who were probably calling us a bunch of animals under their breath. "Honor, what is the meaning of this?" he asked, his eyes shifting from Honor to Wolfe and then to Chance. "Handling a problem." Honor put it so simply as if this were a

"Then how were you and Honor gon' tell me the shit? Fuck how, when? When were you gon' be honest with me? Shit is making a lot of sense now, tho'. Honor kept saying little shit to me 'bout making sure the way I felt about her was mutual on her end. Why the fuck would he say some shit like that to me, Navy? Huh? Is Chosyn some type of promised bride or some shit? I know Lucian fucks with them crazy niggas over in Crimson Falls who think we're back in the 1800s and shit and women are prized possession and currency. Is Chosyn supposed to be married to one of them niggas?" "Wolfe." I sighed,

"Do some shit to disrespect her in any way, and I'm reuniting you with your husband. His ass might be pissy, but don't trip 'cause I'ma piss on yo' grave the same way I do his."
"Well, I made Crown promise not to let him fuck anyone, so you don't have to worry about that," River told me. "How did you get him to promise?" Honey giggled. "I told him if he kept Wolfe out of trouble, I'd gargle his balls while licking the gooch." She shrugged like it was nothing. "Remind me to never drink after your nasty ass." I frowned. "I second that." Navy fake barfed. "Y'all bugging!" Honey giggled. "That's my type of freaky. With Lynx, I let my tongue tickle his crac—"
"Oh, bitch!" Honey blurted, showing River her phone. "What?" I frowned. "Nothing," River said, eyeing Honey strangely. "Just fucking tell me. I'm pregnant and stressed, not handicapped." Honey slid her phone to me, and as I glanced at the screen, a blaze ignited in my veins, smothering the ache that had been gnawing at me. It didn't ease the pain left behind from my last conversation with Wolfe. It twisted it, creating something far more excruciating. "Is this at The Vault?" I asked, showing Navy the picture of Dreka straddling my man's lap. "Yeah," she answered. She and River both grabbed

"Nigga, hurry the fuck up," I barked at Crown, who took his sweet time pulling up in front of me. "My bad. Four sent me a picture of her glasses on her nipples and—"
Sucking my teeth, I set my shoulders up, letting that be his answer. "Man, all I know is her name is Chosyn. I don't even think she liked me. The whole time, she talked about how her boyfriend was out getting drunk while she was dealing with being pregnant alone." "She said that shit?" "Yeah, man. Please get me some help." "Nah. What was your advice to her?" I quizzed, wanting to know if this nigga had my back or not. "I told her to try talking to him again. Men sometimes have issues with... wit... with feelings and shit." "My nigga!"
"Wolfe, what are we doing here?" "We're here to honor the dead and ask for forgiveness," he answered, pushing the door to the church open. We walked in and my eyes widened at the sight of Dennis' picture at the front of the church. Floral arrangements surrounded the picture and in front was an urn that I just knew held Dennis' ashes. "You killed him and brought me to his funeral?" I shrieked in disbelief. "It's hunting season, remember? Every nigga you think about having around my child will get hunted down," he calmly warned, bringing me to the front of the church.
"The nigga isn't dead. He fucked his shoulder up, tho'," he whispered against my lips. "What?" "That nigga is alive. He almost died but then he told me about the advice he gave you about a nigga having a hard time speaking on his feelings."
"I'm sorry, but I had to choose me. You were going to kill me. For what it's worth, I did love you, but I could never love this version of you."
"I'ma bury her where my heart—" "Nigga, I'm not in the dirt, so you gotta change that," I told him. "What you sayin'? You my heart, Chosyn?" He grinned, gripping my jaw the way only he could. "Fuck you think?" I giggled. "You call me your heart for a reason. "Ight, give me a second, and I'll put you out of your misery," he told Ellie. "Wolfe, listen to me. That boy who got jumped that day is someone you should be proud of. Going through what you did made you who you are. Despite her attempts at breaking your heart, you buried it until someone who deserved it came around. With me, your heart is
