My heart surely would be ripped out, left here with her. It couldn’t exist anywhere without her now. I dragged my fingers along her cheek as darkness descended on me, the stars shining blindingly bright in my periphery. But I didn’t want to look at them, the only goddess in this world I wanted to gaze at was right in front of me. And I’d look at her until I could look no more.
