“If you spend your whole life worrying about things that haven’t happened and might not, you take on a burden that isn’t yours to carry,”
But restful or not, I’m never lonely when I’m here, and unfortunately, loneliness has become too big a part of my life to pretend that doesn’t matter.
Welp, I found a problem with my plan for us to spend eternity together. I can’t pronounce his name.
There’s something so wonderful and welcoming about a bookstore. Inside, Raðulfr glances around and then inhales deeply. “Ah. Books.”
Kissing Raðulfr is like eating gourmet ice cream at the beach with your friends on a scorching hot day. It’s like being wrapped in a blanket in front of the fire with your cat and a great book. It’s like being on a roller coaster, screaming and laughing and never wanting the ride to end; like the first time I used magic and understood the real beauty of the world. It feels like the best decision I’ve ever made.
He’s interesting and good-looking, open to my religion, gets along with my cat, and kisses like a dream. I’ve hit the motherfucking jackpot.
I want to pleasure Raðulfr. To make him feel like a king, worshiped by me.
“Raðulfr? Was there a hallucinogen in my nachos?”
That doesn’t seem unreasonable. I hate that he’s not being unreasonable. Hate that he’s showing concern for me. Hate that I’m so angry right now.
Brandt glances at his better half. “Can I speak yet?” “Only if you’re going to be helpful and supportive.”
“Nah, even with only half my attention I’m better at sex than most people. I’m Alistair.”
We just need to work out the details. A relationship with a nineteen-thousand-year-old elf king isn’t something I’ve ever done before.
“Every time and situation is appropriate if you’re telling me you love me.”
