To everyone whose inner child never stopped believing in fairytales — this one's for you.
She wanted passion, she wanted to be swept off her feet. She wanted a love that was worth dying for, a love that was based on friendship, and passion, and soul rendering romance. Her entire childhood had been spent with her nose stuck in every fairytale book she could get her hands on, a habit that her aunt had encouraged as she grew well into her teens.
Her body felt like it was always primed to go, like there was another source of energy inside her that wanted to burst out.
Careful what you wish for.
“Humans truly are odd creatures. You are little more than strangers, but you seek solace in each other’s company simply because of shared misfortune. I wonder… would you stay like this if your resolve was tested further?”
What would it be like to be so cherished and so seen by someone? To love and be loved in return. She had yearned for it for so long, and yet it seemed more and more out of reach with every passing day.
I have made many mistakes in my life, although I know you would shake your head if I said so. But I have always said that it is only a fool who is unconscious of their own errors, and I might be many things, but a fool I am not.
