In such imaginative ways the life-giving banquet can be spread for those with few advantages. Jesus Himself commended all efforts on behalf of the poor. In this case, the families were from inner-city situations where there is such need. But, of course, actual physical poverty is not the only problem. There is a poverty of the mind, a neglect of the heart—our society teems with lonely people.
