Since Patrick began conversing with my father, Meredith has loathed me. I became Patrick’s responsibility, one he doesn’t take lightly. It rubbed Meredith wrong how easily I conformed to my father’s wishes. I am a child– it’s not a woman’s issue on whether or not I listen to my father. I’m not listening to Patrick because he’s a man, but because he treats me with kindness and respect. In return, I respect Patrick and the home I’m currently staying in.
