This is dedicated to everyone who told me two dragons were better than one. You brought this on yourself.
“When I get my hands on whoever touched our omega, they will pray for death.”
Bonded or not, Emmeline Anders was my scent match, and no fucker was stealing her out from under me. Not while I was alive.
This dragon believed me to be his possession, and I wondered if that was the only sort of claiming and love he’d witnessed in his life. It reminded me again of Slade telling me I’m a dragon, Snow. I ferociously guard what is mine, and right now, you are my possession. I own you. I watch over you. There’s no part of you that is kept from any part of me.
Our heart. My Snow.
I’d only seen this bear one other time, but I knew his huge, menacing presence immediately. Finley Thornton had come for me.
“You could have been my salvation,” Finley choked out, a note of sorrow underlining his anger. “Instead, you broke me just as badly as the other shifters in my life who were supposed to love me.”
Our mate might have thought she was under surveillance before, but that was nothing on how closely I’d watch her now. Every step. Every breath. Every fucking second, she was mine.
For my mate, I’d do that, and worse. I’d cut out every fucking heart in this world and let her bathe in the blood.
blaming Talon would be like blaming the knife for stabbing, instead of the one who wielded it.
“Great work, Hunt,” Kellan teased from the kitchen doorway, his grin lighting up my fucking world. “You’ve got our girl smelling like a candy shop again, and no time for us to indulge in our favorite sweet.”
You’re just saying inside thoughts out loud now? That’s fucking amazing!
This alpha on his knees was my fucking undoing.
I liked when her eyes were on me like this. When she couldn’t look away. I wanted her obsession.
I wondered if these alphas knew that today they’d repaired wounds they hadn’t inflicted, and eased pain they didn’t cause. They were the gifts, while the rest was just glitter on top.
“Oh, mate. I tried to drag it out as long as I could, but I’m a desperate, parched alpha. And you’re my drink of choice.”
“If you ever break my trust again,” she warned me, her expression neutral, “then we’re done. I’ll figure out how to destroy our bond or lock you in the basement for the rest of existence. Most people don’t get second chances in life, Talon. Don’t waste yours.” My free hand drifted up, my fingers tracing across her cheek and over her lips. “You are my only chance in life,”
“I’ve waited so damn long,” he breathed, and then his mouth was on mine, and terrible idea or not, I kissed him back. He tasted like sorrow and pain and forever.
His hat was on backwards to hold his hair in place, a style which should be classified as a weapon against females everywhere.
“Healing means taking an honest look at the role you play in your own suffering,”
