Remembering how he gripped my chin while laying down the law has my heart skipping a beat.
I’m with you until the end.”
His eyes flick to me, then he reaches into my plate, grabs a fry, and brings it to my mouth. “Eat.” My lips part automatically on his command, but when I take a bite and realize the man is feeding me, a scowl forms on my face. “I can feed myself,” I mutter around the fry. “I know.” Not breaking eye contact with me, he picks up another fry. “I want to feed you.”
Fine, I’ll admit it. I love being taken care of by this complicated man. He makes me feel so protected, which allows me to be vulnerable with him. I don’t have to pretend when I’m around him.
“I just want to be there for you the same way you’re there for me.”
