“I wouldn’t fucking miss this for the world. You fought hard for this, baby… no more. I prayed for this, and God is finally hearing me.”
I wasn’t the perfect woman, or person. I had my own share of trauma and trust issues; however, I was a catch. I was worth the chase, worth lowering his walls down to let me in.
I had listened to her guzzle the water like a damn camel in the desert before she realized that I was even awake.
It was hard staying grounded in the word when you were a real-life demon to others.
“Clicked, huh?” Quasim finally spoke. I looked over at him. “Yes… we clicked. Problem?” “Not until I make it one… you good for now.” He nodded for me to proceed with his cocky ass.
kicked my boot up on the desk as one of his colleagues walked by, then back peddled until he was standing in the doorway of the cubicle. “Can I assist you?” “Did I fucking ask for assistance?” He was taken back by my response. “Excuse you?” “I didn’t ask for your assistance… you’re fucking excused. Quasim Inferno was laying in my bed, no shirt on, feet crossed at the ankles, bopping his head to the music playing, watching a documentary on a cable channel that I didn’t have while knitting.
“I got that man opened like a can of butter biscuits.” Her goofy ass laughed while hugging me tightly around the neck. “Anjo, why you so corny?”
“She had come over to pick Ry up when we first came home from the hospital.” Capri paused while trying to keep her composure. “I was nice and showed her Rayce, and she was talking over her… why Meer told her to back up because he didn’t want her blowing the souls of other children in his baby’s face.” Skyler heaved as she tried to catch her breath. “Bitch!”
“Oh my God… ahh,” I whispered my scream, not stupid enough to scream out loud because I didn’t know what was going on. Capri looked at me and shook her head. “That quiet ass scream, you might as well not say nothing.”
