Tobias leans down and picks up the severed foot. “Think fast,” he says as he throws it at Barry’s face. He catches it automatically, then jumps back and drops it on the ground. “What the shit?” I bite my lip as Tobias winks at me, and I know he was just trying to cheer me up.

“Just you watch. Heaven and hell will see the flames of their downfall.”

I try to drag my middle finger up from her ankle to the back of her knee, but she grabs my wrist. “I need to shave.” I let out a breathy laugh. “Felt like I was touching a cactus.”

“Watch me destroy every last one of them, Freckles.”
