“Then cuddle me, Freckles. It’s been brutal not being able to do this with you.” “I love how romantic you are,” she says. “I know you keep saying you’re not, but you really are. You’re just as needy as me.”

She’s like my own sunrise. Beautiful. Perfect. She fills a part of me that’s been empty and dark for as long as I can remember.

It took me days to convince her that I wasn’t going anywhere. It took me another few days to finally have Stacey believe that regardless of how she looks, she’s beautiful. Now she keeps putting her tits in my face and trying to suffocate me with them. So yeah. Losing interest in Stacey is impossible.

I love being around her, on her and in her. I love hearing her atrocious singing and her laugh, especially when I cause it. I can hear it now as I drive, the little pig snorts when she belly laughs, exaggerating it with a hand slapping whatever is closest to her.

“After that horrendous performance, you think I’d marry you?” I smirk and glance at Milo and Hopper, who are both staring at us. “Even the dogs are traumatised. I fear for our future children.”

“If there are ever any future children, they’ll be blessed with your looks and my personality, especially my voice, and you’ll love them for it.” My mouth stretches wide, my eyes wrinkling at the corners as I smile. “The world would need to hide if we ever had children. They’d undeniably be heathens.” She tuts, shaking her head, then shifts up to kiss me. “Our little heathens.”

“I want it all with you. I want to go home and tell everyone that we’re together, that we’re going to have kids and grow old together.

“Because I love you. I’ve been in love with you for ages – it’s been all I’ve thought about. And I keep falling more in love with you every single fucking day.” A tear slips down her cheek, and I swipe it with my thumb. “You love me?” “I do. I’m in love with you, Freckles.”

She smiles, and a laugh breaks out, a nervous one, as she kisses me. “I want to keep the baby. I want to have a baby with you, Kade Mitchell.” I feel my heart rate picking up, warmth spreading through my chest. “You do?” “There’s no one else I’d rather be with.”

“We’re having a baby,” I say, turning to Stacey. “I get to have a family with you.”

“I want to be enough for you, my little princess,” I say, choking up for some reason. “I’ll never get drunk around you, and I’ll stay off the cigarettes. I’ll even stop smoking joints when you get here. I’m going to make sure I’m the best version of myself, so I can be a good daddy for you.”

“Let’s assume Kade does get his hands on me,” he says as he follows me with our bags. “Would you help him, Stacey?” I throw my head back and laugh. “He’s the son of Tobias Mitchell. He doesn’t need help.”
