Dwelling was frowned upon. They asked how I was doing and I assured them I was fine. “I’m staying busy.” This was what they needed to hear from me. I’m sure I needed to hear something from them too, but I wasn’t sure what that was.

I liked learning a new tidbit about him. It was never-before-seen footage that kept the movie of his life rolling.

Sometimes I pass something that catches my eye, or ear, and I think, Gabe would love this; or remember when, together, we loved that? I pause, grateful to run into him again.
